    Brick fortress overlooking the Waterford estuary. Some awesome views to be had and a great place to take photos. You cannot visit this place without a guided tour and there is no office on-site. We had to go to the nearby post/tourist office to get tickets for one of the scheduled tours. the tour does go into the tunnels/rooms inside the fort which might not be for the claustrophobic - headlamps are provided and there is a scary surprise for the kids.

    They are very nice and the guide teach very well the history on Duncannon Fort. I was enjoy the tour. I recommend people to visit this place of a wonderful history...

    Yes, it is a beautiful historical landmark. Yes, it has a very interesting story and history. But these facts don't change that this place used to be such an active part of the community and now you need to book a tour to even go inside. Ridiculous.

    A visit to the old fort is a good way to spend the afternoon. The remains of the old fort a clearly visable a new addition to the for was the construction of living accommodation (2 blocks) by the Irish Dept of Defence. If you vusit the old caretakers quarters you can see a headstone from the old graveyard which was situated inside the fort. Worth a visit

    Beautiful area of the Hook Head coast,very scenic beach and historic fort. Well well worth a visit. Picturesque village and working harbour also to visit.

    Very interesting place. Geat shame that the cafe anf giftvship are closed and that you can't bring a picnic in.
